Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women created history by winning their second Women’s Premier League (WPL) title, defeating Delhi Capitals Women by six wickets in a high-voltage final at the BCA Stadium, Vadodara.
Delhi Capitals posted a massive 203/4 in 20 overs, with Jemimah Rodrigues (57) leading the charge, supported by Laura Wolvaardt (44) and Lizelle Lee (37). It was one of the strongest totals ever in a WPL final, putting RCB under serious pressure.
In response, RCB captain Smriti Mandhana produced a match-winning masterclass, smashing a brilliant 87 off 41 balls. She was well supported by Georgia Voll, who played a sensational knock of 79, as the duo stitched together a record 165-run partnership, the highest for any wicket in WPL history.
